Over 700,000 patients in the U.S. suffer ischemic strokes each year, the majority of which are large vessel occlusions (LVOs). Stroke thrombectomy technologies have shown tremendous promise in improving patient outcomes and survival following LVO stroke, although can require repeated passes and result in distal embolization.

DEEP VEIN THROMBOSIS

Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) affects over 700,000 patients a year in the U.S. and is the main cause of pulmonary embolism, a potentially fatal condition. DVT remains a significant cause of permanent disability, venous ulceration and limb loss. Future approaches to thrombectomy of DVT simplify and shorten the procedure without the need for ICU stay or thrombolytic drugs.
